Alison Wonderland, a resident of Australia's holy and deadly country, is the 2022 Forbes electronic artist of the year. To get her, aptly named, debut album, Run, out in March 2015, she had to battle huge spiders, scorpions, and other unidentified animals (the notorious drop-bears). ARIA certified it gold after it reached at No. 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Her second album, Awake, rocketed her from the dangerous creatures of her home island to the safety of the United States, where it debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. In October 2018, she ranked at No. 96 on DJ Mag's list of the world's top 100 DJs. She also holds the record for most highly placed female DJ at Coachella.

Alison Wonderland, released her third studio album, titled Loner, on May 6, 2022, via EMI Music Australia. Singles "Bad Things," "Fuck U Love U," "Fear of Dying," "New Day," and "Forever" led up to the album's release four years after her last album, Awake. Nicole Otero of Gigwise praised Loner, calling it Wonderland's "best album to date" and saying that it will "inspire her fans to look ahead to a better tomorrow" for its "intricate sounds and disarming and raw feelings supporting wickedly clever lyrics" and its blend of "emotional content" and "anthemic drops."
