Harley Edward Streten, known by his stage name Flume, has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music. He has become one of the pioneers of the Future Bass movement, defined by its heavy use of synthesizers, intricate chord progressions, and pitched vocal samples. He started creating music at the tender age of 11 with very basic DJ and production software. This would teach him the fundamentals and building blocks of what would become an incredible journey.
He has remixed artists such as Sam Smith, Arcade Fire, Lorde, Hermitude, and Disclosure, as well as collaborated with big names such as T.Shirt, Vince Staples, Kučka, Vic Mensa, and Tove Lo. His use of electronic, pop, and hip-hop influences has earned him critical acclaim, a dedicated fanbase and made him one of the most in demand, producers and electronic touring artists.
In 2012, he released his self-titled debut album, a 15-track monster that received critical acclaim, went 2x platinum in Australia, and was all produced on the first laptop he had ever purchased. The album was then introduced to the US market in 2013, and it too received strong support from critics there.
Following the success of his first studio recording, his second came out in 2016 called Skin, again doing wonders in the ARIA charts. It spawned what is arguably his biggest hit, Never Be Like You, and it also won Best Dance/Electronic Album at the Grammys. Receiving over one billion streams, that single brought Flume even more fame, putting him in a very exclusive club. Further works from Flume came in the form of his 2022 third album, Palaces, and his second mixtape, Things Don't Always Go the Way You Plan.
A Flume concert is an unforgettable ride of Future Bass inspired music, and you witness the man on stage doing his thing to utter perfection.
