Gregory Alan Isakov is a South-African indie and folk musician known for his monumental hits “The Stable Song,” “Words,” “Big Black Car,” “San Luis,” and more. Isakov, now based in Philadelphia, has released seven critically-acclaimed studio albums. His self-released debut effort, Rust Colored Stones, was dropped in 2003. The record was followed by several more self-released gems like That Sea, the Gambler, and This Empty Northern Hemisphere. The latter record featured vocal performances from Brandi Carlile in five tracks. Isakov also recorded a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “One of Us Cannot Be Wrong.”
In 2013, Isakov entered the Billboard 200 chart for the first time with his third album, The Weatherman. The critically-acclaimed effort stayed in the chart for two weeks and was well-received by fans. Critics commended the record for its “overall consistency of approach” and its “welcomed change of pace.”
