Dan Griffith, the DJ popular by the name Gryffin, puts out emotionally driven music, combining organic music like pianos and guitars to the electronic ensemble of house, bass, and trap. His melodic house music is a favorite among EDM, house, and bass listeners. Beginning his career as a remixer, his style refined, which propelled his solo career. From his debut, "Helping Home," to his most recent releases, it is always expected that what he releases is always a treat.

Gryffin grew up in San Francisco. His mother is Japanese, whose culture deeply influenced him and his music. He was exposed to music at such a young age. He first played the piano and was classically trained. After learning piano, he moved on to play guitar. Learning to play multiple instruments led him to perform in bands, which greatly improved his musical skills. In college, he took a course in electrical engineering. During this time, his sideline in music production started. At first, he was doing it to unwind from the stress of college and to do something fun during parties. This would change when he discovered that he has found his place in the DJying industry.

In 2015, he officially debuted, appearing in 2015's SnowGlobe Music Festival. He first made a buzz, creating remixes of Tove Lo and Marron 5 songs. This initial attention became a stepping stone that would catapult his solo debut. In 2016, "Heading Home" came out. It was a hit and debuted on multiple charts; it reached the 22nd spot on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, the 21st spot on the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs chart, the top spot on Spotify Viral 50 chart, and the fifth on Billboard's Twitter Emerging Artists chart. The same year, he released the single "Whole Heart," which signified an improvement in the sound and maturity of his production.

In the following years, he continued to upgrade his style, doing this by collaborating with multiple DJs. He released more singles like "Feel Good," "Love in Ruins," and "Remember." In 2019, he debuted a full-length album entitled "Gravity." This album was followed by "Alive" in 2022. Some of his collaborations are with Illenium, Quinn XCII, Daniel Wilson, and Elley Duhe.

Come see Gryffin at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on Tuesday, October 24. Coming along with him is rising Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies, who captured attention with productions like "Reality" and "Where Are You Now."
