If you are an eclectic soul, you will probably love LCD Soundsystem’s highly-unique work. The band has been known to blend various genres, and their disco-themed efforts have garnered praise from fans and critics alike. The band, led by the illustrious singer-songwriter and LCD founder James Murphy, debuted in 2002 with the breakout single “Losing My Edge.” The non-album track and a couple of others served as the band’s entry into the grey line between punk and electronica. By 2005, LCD had released their self-titled debut album. The critically-acclaimed effort spawned several hits, including the Grammy-nominated single “Daft Punk is Playing at My House,” “Movement,” and “Disco Infiltrator.” The self-titled debut entered the U.K. chart but has yet to break into the U.S. Nevertheless, the album still enjoyed stellar success in the U.K. It was later certified gold and received a Grammy nomination for Best Electronic/Dance Album.

Five years and one album later, the band released their sophomore effort, Sound of Silver. LCD finally entered the Billboard 200 when the record peaked at number 46 on the chart. The effort also debuted at number 2 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronica Albums. Sound of Silver was later nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album. Although they had three nominations but no wins in two years, the band continued to receive praise for their exemplary genre-defying music. In 2010, LCD’s third effort, This is Happening, soared to number 10 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Dance/Electronica Albums chart. Besides the U.S., the record also entered the charts in 18 other countries.

In 2018, LCD finally won their first Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording for the single “Tonite.” The song is featured in the band’s latest album, American Dream. The album became the band’s highest-charting effort to date after topping three Billboard charts, including the Billboard 200. The record is also LCD’s most successful international release, after entering the charts in over 20 countries. Apart from winning Best Dance Recording, LCD also received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album for American Dream.

It has been over two decades since the band debuted with their breakout single. Now, LCD Soundsystem is one of North America's most sought-after live acts. The crowd favorite has also headlined many popular music festivals, such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and many more.
