The Red Rocks Amphitheater is a world-famous concert venue just west of Denver. Located in Red Rocks Park, the amphitheater is revered for its natural slope. The stage’s backdrop is an angled rock formation that extends outwards. This provides guests with a spectacular view. Since opening in 1941, the concert venue has hosted many world-class artists. It is also a favorite among EDM headlining concerts and festivals. This is why the first-ever Wakaan Rocks will take place at the breathtaking concert grounds.
Prolific EDM artist Liquid Stranger took to social media to announce his brand new festival. “It’s always been a goal of mine to headline this legendary venue. When you start out, you oftentimes think about the ‘what ifs,’ and if everything goes well, HOPE that it come to fruition, and it now has. It’s a new show, a new challenge, a new adventure, and without all of you reading – that dream would’ve not come to reality.” Staff continued to explain his awe for the iconic venue. “It’s humbling to be a fractional part of this venue’s history. I have waited for the right time to play this venue because I wanted to do it ‘right.’ I want to make sure my first ever Red Rocks is special, and I can say with certainty that this show will be an incredible evening.”
Swedish music producer Liquid Stranger has been a staple among dubstep fans. He’s known for his transnational productions that include several covers of Latin, Eastern European, and Asian music. His knack for experimenting with music has also merged various genres, such as ambiance, jazz, reggae, electronica, and more. Emerging in the late ‘90s, Stääf had extensive experience in producing music for rock and jazz bands. During this time, he also formed a group that performed progressive and psychedelic trance music.
By 2003, Stääf introduced himself as Liquid Stranger. He released his debut album, The Invisible Conquest, in 2007. The album comprises tracks with extensive melodic bass lines mixed with world music, percussive grooves, and tribal samples. He maintained his previous sound by providing listeners with psychedelic overlays. Stääf released several more critically-acclaimed albums and EPs, including his latest LP, Balance, released in 2022.
