Folktronica and art pop icon Maggie Rogers is currently making waves across the world with her chart-topping songs. Last year, she just dropped two more Adult Alternative Airplay (AAA) hits, “That’s Where I Am,” which landed at number 1, and “Want Want,” which peaked at number 3. Last year, she completed her second headlining trek, The Feral Joy Tour, which was supported by singer-songwriter Samia and Brooklyn-based music artist Del Water Gap. These prolific activities support Rogers’ 2022 album, Surrender. Released via Debay Sounds, the album peaked at number 12 on the Billboard 200 and three other charts’ Top 5, including peaking at number 1 on the Top Tastemaker Albums chart. Apart from the U.S., Rogers was also killing it internationally. The album entered the charts in seven other countries, including the U.K., Australia, and Canada.

The album was praised by many critics for its genre-defying characteristic. The songs contained Americana, synth pop, glam rock, and new wave elements. But this isn’t the first time Rogers profusely experiment with different sounds. She demonstrated her eclectic music style, as early as 2016, when she released her breakout single, “Alaska.” Stemmed from her debut EP, Now That the Light is Fading, the gold-certified single peaked at number 13 on the Adult Alternative Airplay. After her success with her debut single, Rogers followed with another incredible banger, “On and Off,” which entered Hot Rock and Adult Alternative Songs.

In 2018, Rogers achieved her first number 1 single on the AAA chart, “Light On.”In addition to the song entering the Adult Pop Song, it was also Rogers’ debut on Billboard’s Dance charts. Rogers had always been a purveyor of mixing folk music and electronica. The success of her “folktronica” single led to a gold certification in the U.S. and Canada. The song is featured in Roger’s 2019 debut album, Heard It in a Past Life. The album notably peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Top Alternative Albums, making it her highest charting effort to date. Her exemplary work with the album led to a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Meanwhile, her activism against gun violence and notable philanthropy for pro-choice organizations led to a nomination at the Girls’ Choice Music Awards.
