This summer, Michael Franti and the Spearhead is embarking on the Big Big Love Tour. On this run, Franti will make his phenomenal return to the Red Rocks Amphitheater. His stop at the iconic concert venue in Morrison, Colorado, often includes a relaxing yoga session right before his concert. Franti has held spirited yoga sessions in the same location in past shows. In 2017, he completed the Love Out Loud Yoga Jam. The event benefitted Do It For Love, a non-profit and wish-granting organization founded by Franti in 2013. In a statement, Franti shared his goal for this upcoming summer tour, “Everyone has someone they love, whether it’s their child, spouse, pet, or friend. But then there’s holding space to love people of difference – people who are in the midst of war, people where there is pain and suffering. You show up as love, determination, and spirit in those places where people really need a caring soul connection to help them heal. That’s what big big love is: holding space for the personal and the worldly.”
Michael Franti is a prolific music artist and yoga teacher. When he’s not touring the world and delivering amazing hits, he’s working as a yoga instructor to promote wellness and healing to his Soulrocker fam and other yoga fanatics. Franti currently owns a yoga resort in Bali, which he opened in 2011. Franti mentioned in an interview that he used to have physical issues that he couldn’t get rid of. "I used to have to go to a lot of massages and physical therapy to try to work stuff out of my body. Now that I take care of myself, I don't need to do that anymore. I know where to stretch when I'm feeling it."
