Phenomenal indie rock band Mt. Joy just announced a two-night summer run at the Red Rocks Amphitheater! The show announcement comes after the Los Angeles-based quintet released their latest album, Orange Blood! On Thursday, 17th August 2023, Mt. Joy will perform their first night at the iconic breathtaking venue in Morrison, Colorado. This coveted show is set to feature Mt. Joy’s massive hits and new songs from Orange Blood! Mt. Joy’s latest album, Orange Blood, was written at the height of the pandemic. Band members Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper retreated into the desert to find inspiration and write music. During an interview, Quinn explained the concept behind their 2022 effort. “I was definitely drawn to the color orange. When we were in the desert, everything revolved around the sun. I started playing with the idea that the light we see is this sort of orange blood that runs through all of us and gives life to everything it touches.”
Blood Orange’s release was supported by a summer 2022 outing that extended until November. The album spawned several fan-favorite tracks, such as “Lemon Tree,” “Evergreen,” “Bathroom Light,” and “Orange Blood.” The highly-acclaimed third album was a follow-up to the band’s breakthrough sophomore effort, Rearrange Us. The album, released in 2019, debuted at number 1 on Billboard’s Alternative New Artist Album and New Artist Albums charts. Meanwhile, it peaked at number 2 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart. To promote the album, Mt. Joy embarked on a tour with The Lumineers in the first quarter of 2020.
