Nathaniel Rateliff & the Nightsweats are embarking on a highly-anticipated tour this 2023. The outing, which comprises 15 coveted dates, kicks off in the summer and continues until fall. The tour also brings along select special guests, including Waxahatchee, for the shows in Colorado. Since 2002, Rateliff has been a hometown favorite. His first band, Born in Flood, made waves in Denver. The burgeoning success has brought many opportunities, including a potential record deal with Roadrunner Records. However, Rateliff's passion for folk music implored him to turn down the deal and pursue more stripped-down tunes. Thus, he founded Nathaniel Rateliff & the Wheel. The band dropped its debut album, Desire, and Dissolving Men, in 2007.

In 2015, Rateliff began a project with a more upbeat sound with a mix of soul. The electric singer-songwriter created what would be his long-term group called Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. With his longtime collaborator, Joseph Pope III, on bass, Rateliff released the self-titled debut album. The record featured the band’s biggest hit, “S.O.B.,” which was later certified platinum in the U.S. Meanwhile, the album sold over 500,000 copies in the U..S, thereby earning a gold certification.

The band released their sophomore effort three years later, Tearing at the Seams. The record, which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200 and topped the Folk Albums chart, is most known for singles “A Little Honey” and “Hey Mama.”

While working with the Night Sweats, Rateliff continued to pursue his solo career. In 2020, he released his latest solo album, And It’s Still Alright, debuting at number 5 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums. The highly-acclaimed effort was written as a tribute to his late friend and long-time producer, Richard Swift. Rateliff doesn’t hold back in terms of writing very personal lyrics. In 2021, he released a very personal album with the Night Sweats. The Future was written and recorded out of Rateliff’s studio in Denver. "When I was writing the record, we were in the middle of a pandemic, and our future looked pretty bleak. I just continue to try to write from a place of hope. Then my own neurosis, and maybe being a Libra, gets in the way, and I can’t make up my mind. There is this constant back-and-forth battle in me personally, and I am sure that comes out in my writing,” Rateliff mentioned in a statement.
