This spring, Sublime with Rome brings along hip-hop icons Cypress Hill for their highly-awaited annual return to the Red Rocks! Every year, Sublime with Rome makes their way to the breathtaking amphitheater at the end of April. The band’s annual tradition has been a favorite among locals and fans from far and wide. Every year, they bring along a thrilling special guest. This year, the band had the brilliant idea to bring a highly influential hip-hop group, Cypress Hill! The purveyors of West Coast hip-hop have released some of the most iconic anthems, such as “Insane in the Brain,” “Hits from the Bong,” and “Tequila Sunrise.” The group was considered the pioneers in West Coast hip-hop, and their incredible success led to over 20 million albums sold worldwide. Cypress Hill has also been known for their outstanding knack of mixing various genres into their mix by experimenting with rock, hardcore, psychedelic, and many more.
Meanwhile, Sublime with Rome stems from the legacy of the legendary rock band Sublime. After the passing of Sublime’s singer Bradley Nowell, remaining members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh moved on to start a band with Rome Ramirez. Gaugh eventually left and was replaced by Jason Vick. Sublime with Rome moved on to release three highly acclaimed albums: Yours Truly, Sirens, and Blessings. Meanwhile, some of their fan-favorite singles include “Panic,” “Take It Or Leave It,” “Wherever You Go,” and “Wicked Heart.” During live shows, Sublime With Rome often performs sensational covers, including numerous staples from Sublime and some hits from Grateful Dead, The Toyes, and Fishbone.
