The Avett Brothers are an American folk rock sensation hailing from Concord, North Carolina. This dynamic band is fueled by the musical talents of two brothers: Scott Avett, who rocks the banjo, lead vocals, guitar, piano, and kick-drum, and Seth Avett, playing the guitar, lead vocals, piano, and hi-hat. Joining them are the incredibly talented Bob Crawford on double bass, electric bass, violin, and backing vocals, and Joe Kwon, who brings his magic on the cello and backing vocals. When they hit the stage, they're also joined by touring members Mike Marsh on drums, Tania Elizabeth on fiddle, and Bonnie Avett-Rini on piano.
The band successfully combines bluegrass, country, punk, pop melodies, folk, rock and roll, indie rock, honky tonk, and ragtime to produce a novel sound described by the San Francisco Chronicle as having the "heavy sadness of Townes Van Zandt, the light pop concision of Buddy Holly, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles, the raw energy of the Ramones."
Just now, The Avett Brothers have revealed the dates and vanues for their 2024 Spring/Summer Tour. The trek which will begin on May 16 at The Mann Center in Philadelphia and end on August 24 at Megacorp Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky. Along the road, the band will perform at prestigious locations such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre. For their stop in Red Rocks though, it’s going to be three memorable nights!
Although three nights have been set for the Morrison, Colorado venue, fans are still given the opportunity to score individual day tickets. For Day 2, Melissa Etheridge is joining the band as a very special guest. It’s happening on the 6th of July and you wouldn’t want to miss it!
