The American indie Rockers, hailing from Portland Oregon, we could only be talking about the amazing band – The Decemberists, these guys are known for their wonderful music that stretches across many genre's from their upbeat, positive pop sound to full powerful ballads.. they have it all! And along with their genre bending, they are also a very talented bunch working on various instruments, making them a pleasure to see live in concert!
The Decemberists are; Colin Meloy (lead vocals, guitar, principal songwriter), Chris Funk (guitar, multi-instrumentalist), Jenny Conlee (piano, keyboards), Nate Query (bass), and John Moen (drums).
Through their niche and beautiful sound, they have developed a story telling approach that brings to mind many ways of Irish Folk music, yet their lyrics are more on the Rock side. At their live shows you can expect to see them play instruments such as accordion, keyboards, and upright bass. Along with this they often get the crowd involved and most often for the encore – so get yourself ready to join in!
