With electricity in the air and a spirit of joy, this effervescent group transports listeners to a space where all that matters is the music, and with second-to-none skill and a flair for the improvisational, no two shows are the same! Drawing from funk, soul and jazz, to bring a lively and unique sound to the stage, The Motet is a Denver-based group formed in 1998 by drummer and bandleader Dave Watts, and currently consisting of Watts, guitarist Ryan Jalbert, bassist Garrett Sayers, keyboardist Joey Porter, trumpeter Parris Fleming, vocalist Lyle Divinsky, and saxophonist Drew Sayers. Formed for a Halloween show, the group originally had a revolving line-up of musicians, but over the years became a septet. Best known for their energetic and vivacious live shows, which have brought them notoriety of the touring circuit, the band have also released eight studio albums over the years, including their most recent, 2019's Death or Devotion.
