Oklahoma-based singer-songwriter Zach Bryan recently released his first major label effort, American Heartbreak. Since launching his debut album, DeAnn, in 2019, the prolific country musician has self-released his efforts. Still, he was able to break into the charts with his independent works. DeAnn entered four Billboard charts, including peaking at number 6 on the Top Folk Albums charts. Meanwhile, his sophomore release, Elisabeth, also placed in the top 10 of the Folk charts while also breaking into the U.S. Heatseekers chart at number 16. The album’s lead single, “Heading South,” went viral and entered the Hot Rock, Alternative Songs, and Adult Alternative Airplay charts. Moreover, it later earned platinum status in both the U.S. and Canada.
Last year, Zach Bryan finally signed with a major label, Warner Music. The third album, American Heartbreak, debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and dominated three charts – Folk, Country, and Rock. The album spawned Bryan’s top charting single, “Something in the Orange,” peaking at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The 2022 effort is also Bryan’s first release to break through outside the American market, entering Australia’s mainstream and country charts.
