This 2023 is a great year for Deadmau5 fans. The award-winning DJ announced six Day of the Deadmau5 shows covering select cities, such as Chicago, Mexico City, and Morrison, Colorado. The line-up has yet to be announced, but with the show’s track record, the list of performers is anticipated not to disappoint. Moreover, Deadmau5 also happens to own a record label, Mau5trap. Since its inception in 2007, the label has grown its roster to over 100 EDM artists. So fans can definitely expect some performers from the label, in addition to Deadmau5's groundbreaking set.
Although Deadmau5 is mum on what to expect on this year’s Day of the Deadmau5, the celebrated DJ recently released his latest collaboration album, Kx5 with Kaskade. Released in spring, Kx5 reached number 6 on Billboard’s Dance chart and received wide critical acclaim from both fans and critics. The album spawned several notable tracks, “Escape,” “Take Me High,” “Alive,” and “Avalanche,” – which fans can look forward to at shows.
Aside from new songs, fans can also expect some career-spanning hits from Deadmau5’s critically-acclaimed albums. In a span of four years (2012 to 2016), Deadmau5 has released three number 1 Dance albums, Album Title Goes Here, While (1<2), and W:/2016Album/. In 2008, he dropped his breakthrough record, Random Album Title, which peaked at number 13 on Billboard’s Dance chart. In the next few years, Deadmau5 rose to number 11 and 2 with For Lack of a Better Name and 4×4=12, respectively.
When it comes to creating dance hits, Deadmau5 is not only a veteran but a true master of his craft. He’s been credited for popularizing electronic dance music and influencing a new generation of music producers. His exemplary work has earned him numerous awards, including three Juno Awards, Five Beatport Music Awards, Four DJ Awards, three International Dance Music Awards, and six Grammy nominations. Beatport also named him the “Greatest House DJ Ever award for two consecutive years. He is also currently one of the highest-paid DJs in the world.
