Jerry Garcia has left a legacy that combines countless memories, epic jams, thousands of live shows, boundless energy full of storytelling, performances and tours – his life an intense journey through history and change. Over the span of his 30 years as a musician he became a beacon for generations of people, his music and band, The Grateful Dead, marking a period in music that changed the world. The Grateful Dead are renowned for their extensive touring, playing over 2,000 live concerts. The Red Rocks Amphitheatre became a special place for Garcia and The Grateful Dead, a venue they visited 20 times, gracing the stage with their infinite live jams. Their final appearance there was in 1987, and it is fitting that, despite Garcia no longer being around to party with Colorado, they are the venue that will be celebrating his legacy. Melvin Seals, Dave Schools, Tom Hamilton, Jacklyn LaBranch and Duane Trucks will be trading licks with the Colorado Symphony, the power of the 65-piece orchestra rocking the foundations of the venue, exploring and interpreting the Garcia Songbook with these world-class musicians. It will be an 80th birthday celebration that all Deadheads and jam band lovers will be awed by, with the iconic Jerry Garcia at the center of the party. Make sure you don't miss out!
