Australian rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard is embarking on a much-awaited U.S. tour this summer! The Melbourne sextet will perform 13 shows in select cities, including a two-night run at the Red Rocks Amphitheater! On Wednesday, 7th June 2023, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard will perform their first night at the iconic venue! The much-awaited show is guaranteed to deliver an exhilarating set packed with the band’s massive hits, crowd-pleasers, and new songs from the latest effort, Changes. King Gizzard is Australia’s leader in psychedelic rock music. The band, which emerged in 2010, has produced 23 highly-regarded albums, including their latest masterpiece, Changes. The band released their debut album, 12 Bar Bruise, in 2012. The record charted at number 14 on the Australian charts and featured hits “Bloody Ripper” and “Elbow.” By 2016, the group released its international breakthrough effort, Nonagon Infinity. The album, which spawned “Gamma Knife,” “People-Vultures,” and “Mr. Beat,” entered six Billboard charts, including peaking at number 4 on the Top Heatseekers Albums chart. Besides the U.S., the album also charted in Belgium, the U.K., and Australia.
In 2017, the band released Flying Microtonal Banana, one of their highest-charting albums on the Australian chart. The album peaked at number 2 in Australia and entered four U.S. Billboard charts, including Top Rock and Top Alternative Albums charts. Flying Microtonal Banana also received wide critical acclaim from professional critics. For instance, AllMusic praised the effort, “it's clear that the experiment was a success and that the micro-tuned instruments fit in perfectly with their oddball aesthetic.”
This 2023, the band will be supporting their latest effort, Changes, which peaked at number 4 on the Australian chart. The band is also promoting their concert film, Chunky Shrapnel. The concert was live-stream in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. Now, the film will hold multiple screenings in the U.S.
