South African singer Gregory Alan Isakov arrives at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on Sunday, September 1st! For back-to-back nights, the singer-songwriter returns to his hometown to deliver a live performance featuring songs from his 11-track album, Appaloosa Bones.

Hailing from Johannesburg and currently finding his creative haven in Colorado, the horticulturist and musician has established his presence in the genres of indie-rock, Americana, and folk. His discography features six full-length studio albums, including That Sea, The Gambler, This Empty Northern Hemisphere, The Weatherman, Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony: Evening Machines, and his latest release, Appaloosa Bones. Over the years, Isakov has toured globally with his band and has performed alongside several national symphony orchestras across the United States.

As mentioned, his newest record was released just last August through Dualtone/Suitcase Town Music. A review from The Associated Press proclaims how the album is simple, straightforward, and utterly evocative. “He has that magical ability to convey both urgency and grandeur at the same time…turning short poems into a magnificent piece of music that can captivate for hours.” the article continues.

To support this release, Isakov has officially confirmed an extensive international tour with shows scheduled all the way through 2024. "I thought I was gonna make something very lo-fi, very simple. It's almost like a lo-fi rock and roll record. I wanted old silver tones that are double amped and kind of dirty," Isakov shares when asked about the inspiration for his new record. "Then, the songs sort of presented themselves to me. It's sort of a co-creative process for me. I just follow along."

Surprisingly, when this luminary isn't touring, he dedicates his time to managing Starling Farm, a charming small-scale farm located in Boulder County. His piece of land supplies fresh produce to CSA members, local restaurants, and Community Food Share, a nearby food bank that helps combat hunger in the community.

The Red Rocks Amphitheater is one of the most gorgeous outdoor concert venues in all of Colorado, with its stunning view of the Rocky Mountains and natural atmosphere. Call up your closest friends and purchase your tickets to Gregory Alan Isakov for Sunday, September 1st!
